Lasagna Beds for Beginners

welcome

My adventures into gardening and my discovery of the "Lasagna Bed" technique. Learn from my mistakes and always feel free to comment, good or bad. If I can make a garden anybody can!

Early Garden Musings Part 1

Well - I see I messed up the header - I'll have to fix that Rod 4/29/09

Always remember - I AM NO EXPERT

With the movie Public Enemies filming Columbus and Johnny Depp hanging out I really did not have time for words about my gardens - however - since I wrote an article for the local paper ABOUT my gardens I figure I better recover some photos and post them.

So in MOSTLY sequential order here they are - I WISH I could tell you what each of my little babies names are but . . . maybe it'll be a contest LOL

Mailbox Garden

The Clay garden

Threadleaf Coreopsis

The day of the flood

you can see the underwater garden through the slats of the deck

And the creation of Grinder's Island

Early Butterfly garden

Jethro Tull Coreopsis
- purchased them ONLY because of their name

Inside of a Daylily
I believe it's a Dianthus

A little critter - I think he is smiling

Sweet Autumn Clematis
(awesome flower - grows 20-30 feet a year)
This was only the 1st year

This red flowers are annuals and humming birds loved them
not a clue what they are

OK OK - no flowers in this one!

I took out that Fennel in the middle - now I have a hole
not sure what should go there.

For some reason it's 6:30 in the morning and I felt the need to take a photo

Astor

The week of a Billion Bees. Every single flower had at LEST 2 bees on it.

I'll have more when I find them - I had a hard drive crash this winter :-(
